St. John's C.E. Primary School

Attendance

The national attendance at primary school is 96%.

Regular school attendance is vital for our pupils in order that they can make good progress and achieve their academic potential.  We recognise that, for some of our pupils, this may be an extremely difficult target to achieve and aim to give as much support and positive praise as practically possible in order to assist them in regular daily attendance.

A list of school holidays is issued every year and family holidays should be planned within these dates.

Taking children out of school during term time in exceptional circumstances is only authorised upon application to the Headteacher.

Further information can be found in the St John’s Absence, Attendance and Punctuality Policy.

St John's uses Studybugs, a secure, online communication platform system, for parents and carers to report a child’s absence due to illness and also to manage communication about health and wellbeing.  Parents and carers can either download the free app or register on the Studybugs website at https://studybugs.com/register.
