St. John's C.E. Primary School

Welcome

Welcome to St John’s C.E. Primary School N20. From the age of 3, we welcome children into a community that is small enough to feel secure but large enough to offer a huge breadth of experiences. We aim to provide outstanding academic and pastoral support to all children, whilst nurturing each individual through our Christian ethos. Our pupils develop a sense of responsibility, learning to care about both our school community and the world beyond.

We encourage our children to try their best, to have a go and to always aspire to improve. We believe in having a growth mindset, promoting curiosity, concentration, resilience, imagination, determination, cooperation and an enjoyment of learning. Effort and hard work are always recognised and rewarded. There are no limits to anyone’s learning and we strongly believe in the power of the word ‘yet’ when referring to something we cannot do; it encourages everyone to realise that we still have the ability to achieve in the future something that we might not currently be able to do.

We also love to celebrate our achievements, whether that’s playing in our orchestra, challenging ourselves at chess, taking part in the wide range of sporting activities on offer, making suggestions in the school council meetings or demonstrating fantastic effort and learning.

We know that happy children learn best. We focus on giving all of our pupils a positive start to their education, striving to equip them to become independent lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.

Mission Statement

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”- Philippians 4:13

Nurture, Encourage, Challenge Through Christ

We believe that each child is made in the image of God and has unique gifts and a purpose; we nurture, encourage and challenge everyone to love learning, be their very best today and be prepared for tomorrow.

In our caring environment where faith and education join in harmony, our children are encouraged to live a life of hope and grow into lifelong learners. They are guided to overcome challenges and journey towards individual triumphs, whilst shepherding them to grow spiritually, morally and academically. We listen to and respect every individual, everyone’s efforts are celebrated and we always strive for excellence.

Together, as a loving and inclusive community, we celebrate God’s goodness seen in one another.
